Product information "Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness 90 x 60 cm on canvas"
The image of Urquhart Casle at Loch Ness is printed on a real artist's canvas and stretched on a sturdy wooden frame. The edges of the image are also printed, so that even without an additional wooden frame a perfect overall impression is achieved.
Urquhart Castle is a ruined castle on Loch Ness.
Built around 1230, Urquhart Castle was among the largest in Scotland. In 1296, the castle was taken by the English, but then fell under the control of Robert the Bruce, after this became Scottish king. The last garrison left Urquhart Castle 1692, which was henceforth the decay. In the 1930s, a Mr. Chewett acquired the ruin. Today it belongs to Historic Scotland and can be visited.
Urquhart Castle is a popular vantage point over Loch Ness and for Nessie watchers. It is one of the oldest ruins in the whole of Scotland.
