Product information "Ledaig 1990/2007 Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Ch. 43% vol. 0,7l"
Gordon & MacPhail is probably the most important independent bottler in Scotland.
Gordon & MacPhail has vast stocks of barrels from almost all distilleries, the stored vintages date back to the 30s.
The most famous series by Gordon & MacPhail is the Connoisseurs Choice with over 40 different bottlings.
There is also a Cask Strength series and bottlings under the name Spirit of Scotland and Speymalt.
One thing all the bottlings have in common is the very high, excellent quality.
Ledaig (Tobermory)
Ledaig is the name of the second Malts produced by Tobermory. The first malt is called like his distillery - Tobermory.
Founded in 1795 on the Isle of Mull, Tobermory produces with many, sometimes long periods of closure, on the one hand the light but very aromatic malt of the same name (the Malt Tobermory is made of unsalted barley) and on the other the Malt Ledaig.
This malt is made of beaten barley and produced only in small editions.
The distillery was taken over after a long period of rest by an English real estate company and taken back in 1990.
Since 1993 Tobermory is owned by Burn Stewart.
Ledaig is a typical island whiskey - quite strong and smoky with a wonderful malt tone.
Data of bottling
Distilled: October 1990
Bottled: February 2007
