Gordon & MacPhail is probably the most important independent bottler in Scotland.
Gordon & MacPhail has vast stocks of barrels from almost all distilleries, the stored vintages date back to the 30s.
The most famous series by Gordon & MacPhail is the Connoisseurs Choice with over 40 different bottlings.
There is also a Cask Strength series and bottlings under the name Spirit of Scotland and Speymalt.
One thing all the bottlings have in common is the very high, excellent quality.
Dalmore
Founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, who made his money with tea and opium in Hong Kong before whiskey-burning.
In 1886 Dalmore was taken over by the MacKenzie family.
The biggest buyer was Whyte & Mackay.
The blending company merged with the MacKenzies in 1960; And so Dalmore still plays an important role in their blends.
In 1263, a member of the Clan Mackenzie rescued King Alexander III from a stag that threatened to impale him with a single arrow.
Out of gratitude to the clan, King Alexander III allowed the Mackenzies to wear a deer head with the motto "Cuidich 'n Righ" (Gaelic: "Help the King") in the clan crest.
For a long time Dalmore belonged to the Mackenzies and so every bottle adorns the head of the Zwölfender!
A malty whiskey with very nice notes of spices and smoke.
Distilled: March 1992
Bottled: October 2006
