Product information "Director's Tactical Selection (Talisker) 1990/2009 Douglas Laing 50% vol. 0,7l"
Douglas Laing & Co. was founded in 1950 as a blending company.
The core business is still old-fashioned blends - the main markets for Douglas Laing & Co. are Latin America and Asia.
Since this business has been declining since the mid-90s, it has been decided to fill the best malts from its own stock as a single malt.
This resulted in the high quality "The Old Malt Cask" series as well as the "McGibbon's Provenance" series.
Tactical (Talisker) "The old Malt Cask"
Talisker is the only distillery on the island of Skye.
Whiskey in Scotland is considered perfect for warming up or for fresh days outdoors.
The Scots say: It is sacrilege to make this whiskey weaker or even to dilute it with water. You do not sip on this drop, but warm it up to body temperature and then take a good sip of it.
The whiskey author Derek Cooper writes: ... The Talisker is not a drink, but an inward explosion, a hot stove; he hits like a bomb. There is nothing gentle about the Talisker.
A gorgeous 18 year old from a Refill Hogshead!
Aroma: fresh and sweet, vanilla and a little smoke
Taste: sweet, then peat, smoke and extinguishing embers
Finish: long finish, again sweetness and ashes
The data:
Distilled: December 1990
Bottled: April 2009
Edition: 152 bottles
not cold-filtered
without dyes
