North Port
North Port-Brechin was founded in 1820 under the name Brechin in the Eastern Highlands.
The name is reminiscent of the northern gate of the small town of Brechin, which was formerly surrounded by a city wall.
In 1922, the distillery came into the possession of DCL (today UDV), which demolished it in 1983.
The malt produced here was used for the Heather Dew Blends and the Vatted Malt "Glen Dew" of the defunct Mitchell Bros. company.
As a single malt there are North Port-Brechin only from Gordon & MacPhail, Cadenhead and in the Rare Malts Selection by UDV.
The malt has an oily body, in the taste traces of banana and pineapple, slightly spicy.
