Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.
Oddbins Exclusive - Recioto ACE
This malt was finished in Italian Recioto wine barrels from northeastern Italy.
Here, the wines are made with the Passito method - the grapes are air-dried for several months to concentrate the taste and sweetness.
