The 40-year-old is the oldest standard bottling of the distillery.
So old bottlings are rare, but the fact that Glenfarclas is still family owned for more than 140 years makes such bottlings possible.
A wonderfully balanced malt, on the nose light aromas of walnuts and chocolate-coated raisins.
Sweet in taste, like pieces of orange dipped in chocolate, then brown sugar burnt on the palate.
A dry finish with lots of tannin and strong, dark cocoa beans.
