Dalmore Gran Reserva 40% vol. 0,7l
- Order number: 12292
Founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, who made his money with tea and opium in Hong Kong before whiskey-burning. In 1878, Dalmore was taken over by the MacKenzie family. The biggest buyer was Whyte & Mackay.
The blending company merged with the MacKenzies in 1960; And so Dalmore still plays an important role in their blends.
In 1263, a member of the Clan Mackenzie rescued King Alexander III from a stag that threatened to impale him with a single arrow.
Out of gratitude to the clan, King Alexander III allowed the Mackenzies to wear a deer head with the motto "Cuidich 'n Righ" (Gaelic: "Help the King") in the clan crest.
For a long time Dalmore belonged to the Mackenzies and so every bottle adorns the head of the Zwölfender!
Dalmore produces a very elegant malt that unfortunately does not get the respect and appreciation it deserves.
Dalmore Gran Reserva
Malty flavors, followed by sweet notes of jam and Christmas cake, hints of roasted coffee and chocolate.
In the taste ripe oranges and lemon peel.
Matured in 40% American White Oak and 60% Sherry Wood.
