Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.

Sherry Edition Series_2: Pedro Ximénez
First, this malt matured in bourbon barrels, finishing in Spanish Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels.
The result is almost dark red malt with pronounced berry aromas of dark forest fruits and the delightful sweetness of the darkest Spanish sherry - Pedro Ximénez!
