Product information "Glencraig 1975/2004 Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Ch. 40% vol. 0,7l"
Gordon & MacPhail is probably the most important independent bottler in Scotland.
Gordon & MacPhail has vast stocks of barrels from almost all distilleries, the stored vintages date back to the 30s.
The most famous series by Gordon & MacPhail is the Connoisseurs Choice with over 40 different bottlings.
There is also a Cask Strength series and bottlings under the name Spirit of Scotland and Speymalt.
One thing all the bottlings have in common is the very high, excellent quality.
Glencraig
Glencraig is now considered a rarity.
This malt comes from the distillery Glenburgie. Glenburgie was opened in 1829 under the name Kilnflat. In the years 1958 to 1981 Glenburgie was equipped with two "Lomond stills" (a variant of the pot stills, in which one can produce different malts through small technical modifications).
Only in these "Lomond stills" Glencraig was distilled (in the distillery Miltonduff there was with the Malt Mosstowie a similar variant from 1964 to 1981)
The whiskey was bottled only by Gordon & MacPhail.
This Speyside malt is a soft and slightly sweet malt.
