Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.

Bourbon Cask Aged
The official successor of 15-year-old Bruichladdich - this malt matured exclusively in American premium Kentucky Straight Bourbon barrels.
First, the malt matured in barrels of the distillery "Jim Beam", then he came for a second maturation in barrels of the distillery "Buffalo Trace".
The result is a classic Scottish single malt with wonderful vanilla notes.
