Signatory
The independent bottler Signatory was founded in 1988 by the brothers Symington in Edinburgh.
At the beginning of their history, the brothers did not yet have the necessary influence in the whiskey industry, so the two often had to put up with barrels that spurned by the large, renowned independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail or Ian MacLeod due to low editions or even lower quality were.
This is now the past and from the small, insignificant bottler has become a renowned, acclaimed producer, who often comes up with rare and coveted bottlings.
Since 2002, the smallest distillery in Scotland - Edradour - owned by Signatory.
Glencadam 1972 - Silent Stills - including miniature and original barrel piece
Founded in the Eastern Highlands in 1825, Glencadam has been owned since 1954 by Hiram Walker, now Allied Domecq.
The lion's share of the production goes into the Ballantine's blends.
As a single malt, it is only available from Gordon & MacPhail and Cadenhead.
The distillery was closed in 2000 and has since been for sale.
Glencadam is a full, malty digestive malt - wonderfully creamy with traces of berry fruit.
