This Laphroaig first matured in traditional oak barrels, then in selected smaller "Quarter Casks".
The result is a velvety sweetness, followed by the intense peatiness of a Laphroaig.
Aroma: lots of toffee and nutty aromas, with notes of rum and juicy raisins - a little vanilla
Taste: initially intense sweetness, very spicy and warm, smoke, iodine and peat - in the background sweet syrup
Finish: medium length finish, surprisingly fruity with notes of caramelized sugar and cigar smoke
