Benrinnes was founded in Speyside in 1834 under the name "Lyne of Ruthrie Distillery" - four years later, in 1838 the name "Benrinnes" was introduced.
Dewar's took over in 1922 the distillery and so Benrinnes came via DCL to the current owner UDV. (United Distillers and Vintners).
The Malt forms the basis for the blends of AA Crawford, who until 1992 were also licensees of Benrinnes.
Benrinnes produces a medium and very balanced malt, which may be related to the distillation method, which, like Springbank's, provides for a 2.5-fold distillation.

Sehr runder Benrinnes. (Wie die meisten aus der Flora und Fauna Serie.) Schön, dass auch Destillen die sonst eher in Blends gehen für Liebhaber verfügbar sind.
