Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whiskey Peated Edition 50% vol. 0,7l
- Order number: 11254
The distillery is located in the picturesque village of Penderyn, on the southern foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park, which features spectacular mountains, open bogs, raging mountain streams and waterfalls.
Since the closure of the Frongoch distillery at the end of the 19th century, there has been no distillery in Wales for almost 100 years.
Penderyn is now the only distillery in the country.
Penderyn distils and stores the malt not only on its own soil - also an in-house bottling plant is available and so everything is created under one direction.
Penderyn matures in barrels of Jack Daniel's and Evan Williams.
The malts are finished in different barrels, for example in Madeira or sherry casks.
Limited Release - Peated Edition
On St. David's Day (March 1, St. David is the patron saint of the Welsh) in 2004, the first whiskey was presented to the public. This was the beginning.
As the whiskey ages, it becomes more full-bodied and complexity increases. The optimal age is well below that of his Scottish relatives. The distillate's unwanted flavors, which take many years to mature, are not even available from the Penderyn distillation method.
