Signatory
The independent bottler Signatory was founded in 1988 by the brothers Symington in Edinburgh.
At the beginning of their history, the brothers did not yet have the necessary influence in the whiskey industry, so the two often had to put up with barrels that spurned by the large, renowned independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail or Ian MacLeod due to low editions or even lower quality were.
This is now the past and from the small, insignificant bottler has become a renowned, acclaimed producer, who often comes up with rare and coveted bottlings.
Since 2002, the smallest distillery in Scotland - Edradour - owned by Signatory.
Benriach
The distillery was founded in 1898 and closed again two years later.
The reason for this was the depression of the end of the 19th century, which was followed by the boom times and fell victim to more than 30 distilleries in just ten years.
Glenlivet renovated the distillery in 1965 and then put it back into operation.
To this day, Benriach still uses its own malting floors.
Almost the entire production is processed on site into blends.
