Ben Nevis 10 Year Old 46% vol. 0,7l
The distillery was founded in 1825 by Long John Macdonald (Long John Distillers).
In 1955, Joseph W. Hobbs took over the distillery, an American who had lived in Scotland since the 1930s and had already bought the distilleries Glenesk, Bruichladdich and Lochside.
With moderate success, he produced at Ben Nevis Grain and Malt Whiskeys.
In 1981, Ben Nevis came back to Long John Distillers, who discontinued operations in 1986.
Since 1989 the distillery is owned by the Japanese company Nikka, which has been producing here again since 1991.
Aroma: fruity-fresh with aromas of orange and jam, with slightly nutty notes
Taste: becoming spicier, some toffee - light peat notes and an elegant, bittersweet note
Departure: soft, again toffee, with mocha and dark chocolate
