Product information "Caol Ila Natural Cask strength 59.3% vol. 0,7l"
Founded in 1846, Caol Ila joined Balloch, Lade & Co. in 1863, acquired by Robertson & Baxter in 1920, and finally taken over by UDV (United Distillers and Vintners) in 1927 by DCL.
In the years 1972 to 1974 Caol Ila was completely renovated.
Caol Ila is considered an insider tip, compared to other Islay whiskeys it is light - but it has an intense peat taste.
This bottling in cask strength is not cool filtered and invites you to experiment with still water.
Most of the production goes in blends like Johnnie Walker, so that the bottlings as single malt are relatively small.
