Product information "Oak Cross Compass Box 43% vol. 0.7l - old design"
Compass Box was founded in 2000 by John Glaser.
The idea of creating a whiskey to the taste of the customer is as simple as it is ingenious.
Compass Box Whiskeys are Blends and Vatted Malts and Grains!
The bottlings are without exception small runs, so-called "small batches".
Compass Box buys self-selected barrels of various distilleries and combines whiskeys, as you know it from any conventional blend or Vatted.
The results are impressive, with many critics and journals praising Compass Box as the most innovative whiskey blender in Scotland.
At the "International Wine & Spirit Competition" the blend "Asyla" won gold!

Oak Cross
Oak Cross is a wholly-owned malt whiskey, which achieves its impressive quality through additional ripening in custom-made barrels.
These special barrels have French oak floors and an American oak body.
This achieves a perfect balance between the lighter note of the whiskey matured in American oak barrels and the spicy and dried fruit note of the French oak.
When bottling, some of these special barrels are selected to create an extra flavor level that is usually unreachable.
The result is a soft malt whiskey with the taste of clove and vanilla, highlighting the sweet malty and fine fruit notes.
Oak Cross uses only Highland malt whiskeys aged at least ten years. They are carefully steamed to balance the sweet-delicate, slightly malty flavors with the heavier fruit character.
All Compass Box fillings are not cool filtered and have no dyes.
Soft on the palate, with aromas of clove and vanilla, emphasizing sweet malty and fine fruitiness.
Medium body with a long finish.
Data of bottling
distilleries:
Exclusively Highland whiskeys, led by Teaninich, paired with malts from Brora and Carron.
Age of whiskeys: at least 10 years
barrels:
All whiskeys undergo the first ripening in various types of American oak barrels. The "marrying casks" are a mix of "first-fill" bourbon barrels and Compass Box's own "Oak Cross" barrels made from American and French oak.
