The 18-year-old Bunnahabhain is bottled without dyes and without cold filtration.
Aroma: salty caramel and sweetened nuts, clearly toffee and leathery oak fragrances, some nutmeg
Taste: distinct sherry notes and salty sea air, then roasted nuts and gentle oak notes
Finish: the spicy oak remains warming, long finish with slightly salty and sherry notes

Im Blindtasting mit lauter sensationellen und teilweise sehr teuren 18 jährigen Whiskys für mich der Beste. Bunnas leben ja vom understatement. Auch der 18er braucht Zeit, zeigt dann aber eine sensationelle Komplexität mit Leder, Salz, Süße, (Trocken-)Früchten, Gewürze, Nüssen. Mittlerweile leider etwas teuer...

Bunna will not produce this 18yo for a year or two due lack of old barrels. I just love this expression. Understated elegance. At 46,3% and not chillfiltered.

Ein Traum für jeden Kenner. Ein muss für jede Sammlung. Schade daß dieser 18-jährige Bunnahabhain jetzt ca. 25-30,- ¤ mehr kostet als noch vor ca. 3 Monaten. Mann findet ihn jetzt immer öfters mit Kaufpreisen von um die 100,- ¤ herum.
