Product information "Bruichladdich Pack WMD II "Yellow Submarine" u. INFINITY 2x 0,7l"
Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.
Bruichladdich WMD II 91/05 "Yellow Submarine"
The most incredible stories are written by life itself ...
After the legendary story of the first bottling of the Bruichladdich WMD "Whiskey of Mass Distinction", the following incredible story happened off the coast of Islay at the end of August 2005:
John Baker, a fisherman from Islay Island, discovered a yellow, barrel-like object in the water about seven miles from the Bruichladdich Distillery during a fishing trip.
As he approached, he recognized a small, yellow submarine.
He grabbed it alongside his boat and hauled it into Port Ellen harbor.
Once there, it was lifted out of the water by crane and placed near John Baker's house.
The local police were contacted, which in turn was the Ministry of Defense.
The MOD initially vehemently denied missing the GBP 500,000.00 submarine.
A few days later came the message that the submarine labeled "MOD" is not owned by the UK Department of Defense.
Again a few days later, the fisherman was accused of stealing it.
Finally, it was collected at dawn on 08.09.2005 by the British miner boat HMS Blyth in the Port of Port Ellen.
A wonderfully balanced malt with beautiful hints of berry fruits.
