Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.

Bruichladdich 20 years Third Edition "Islands" Madeira finish
For 20 years, this exceptional malt matured in bourbon casks.
He was then stored for several months in selected Malmsey-Madeira Hogshead barrels.
The result is a captivating, dark malt with beautiful aromas of raisins, cherry, vanilla and oranges.
The finish is wonderfully soft and velvety.
