Even if there is no official answer to the question , which single malt is bottled under the name "The Ileach", rumors are increasing and consolidating that it is an Islay distillery in the southwest of the island.

- Nose: clearly peat, fresh herbs and grass - behind it salty sea air
- Palate: surprisingly soft in taste with lots of peat smoke and malt - plus peppery tones and some fruit
- Finish: long in the finish with clear sea salt, peat and iodine

Wer die Wuchtigkeit der Islay-Whiskys schätzt und nicht unbedingt den Namen der Distillery benötigt, um „ein gutes Gefühl im Mund“ zu wertschätzen, hat hier die richtigen Flasche gewählt.

Der Whisky war mir zu brutal, wenig ausgewogen, nicht mein Ding.

Ein heftig torfiger Geselle, der aber durch ausgeprägte Sherrynoten etwas gefälliger wird. Für mich ein Whisky, den ich immer im Schrank habe. Macht Spaß und ist aufgrund des Preises alltagstauglich. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist exzellent.

Ein kräftiger, intensiver und rauchiger Islay-Malt. Sicher kein Komplexitäts-Monster, aber dafür ist dieser Whisky ja auch nicht gemacht Das, was er kann, macht er richtig gut. Mir gefällt die Fassstärke und die damit verbundene Intensität. Für Liebhaber von rauchigen Cask Strength Abfüllungen ist der Ileach zu empfehlen Für das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis gibt es volle Punktzahl, aber auch im allgemeinen ein gelungener Single Malt.
