Lagavulin 1979/2002 Murray McDavid Mission I 46% vol. 0,7l
- Order number: 10504
Murray McDavid was founded in 1997, specializing in the bottling of a wide range of single malts in short runs.
The bottlings are without exception of a captivating quality, which is not least due to the fact that Murray McDavid such greats as Jim McEwan (Master Distiller Bruichladdich), Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright (a member of the Springbank clan) together to have!
Awarded several times by various whiskey industry institutions, Murray McDavid stands for exclusivity and the highest quality.
Murray McDavid offers his whiskeys exclusively without dyes and without cold filtration.
The malts are in ideal drinking strength with 46% vol. bottled (only exceptions are bottlings in barrel size).
For the mission series, barrels are selected from distilleries that, on the one hand, are older than Murray McDavid's "usual" bottlings and, on the other hand, meet or even exceed quality standards.
Lagavulin 1979
There are only a few malts that are as complex and smoky as Lagavulin.
Even rarer are bottlings of this distillery from independent bottlers. Here it was once again the name Jim McEwan, who opened the doors to the Lagavulin warehouse.
This filling begins sweetly and then unfolds with force its sharpness and peatiness.
Jim Murray, the whiskey author u. Critic writes about him: "Lagavulin is to be treated with caution, but reverence, this is not a malt to sip lightly - it devours one!"
