Product information "Bruichladdich 3D "The Peat Proposal" 46% vol. 0,7l"
Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.

"The Peat Proposal"
Until the early 1960s, all Islay distilleries produced exceptionally peated malt whiskeys.
These whiskeys were almost invariably used for blends and almost never bottled as single malt.
At the beginning of the sixties there was a new fashion trend and many distilleries - including Bruichladdich - used considerably less peated barley.
To commemorate the origins of peaty malts, Jim McEwan created this extraordinary and hitherto absolutely unique whiskey - "The Peat Proposal"!
The term "3D" denotes three different Bruichladdich whiskeys from three different decades with three different peat strengths.
The data:
1. Whiskey - a 1989 Bruichladdich, normal pitched with 3-5ppm
2. Whiskey - a 1998 Bruichladdich, medium pitched with 25ppm
3. Whiskey - a 2001 Port Charlotte (also Bruichladdich), heavily punished with 40ppm
Edition: 12,000 bottles with individual numbering
This malt is something completely different than what one of Bruichladdich so far knows.
The aroma reveals the peat, but it is very well hidden.
If you nip on it, it begins almost sweetly with some fruity notes - and then it suddenly explodes like a bomb and the peat comes with an incredible force to the fore!
The Malt for cold, uncomfortable days !!
Content: 0.7l
Alcohol content: 46% vol.
