Founded in 1826, Old Pulteney is the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland.
Only the current owner Inver House, who acquired the distillery in 1995, brought the whiskey as a single malt on the market, before only bottlings of independents were available.
Most of the production goes in the Ballantine's blends.
The 12-year-old is a typical malt of a distillery located on a rough coastal landscape.
The salty sea air characterizes the taste of this traditional whiskey - fresh and slightly salty.
