Caol Ila is considered an insider tip, compared to other Islay whiskys it is light - but it has an intense peat taste.
Most of the production goes in blends like Johnnie Walker, so that the bottlings as single malt are relatively small.
Nose: peat smoke, fresh seagrass, slightly salty
Taste: peat smoke and smoked fish, tar and moist leather, slightly salty
Finish: again smoked fish, now almost as if burned, oily notes that last a long time, with light lemon and caramel

Ein Versuch, gelungen. Deutliches Torfaroma mit Salz Geschmacklich sticht der Rauch mit Anklängen von Räucherfisch hervor. Im Abgang war leicht Zitrone und Karamell zu schmecken. Eine echte Islay-Alternative
