Im Jahr 2008 gründeten die beiden Freunde Jay Carpenter und Dave Cuttino ihre Destillerie Reservoir in Richmond im US-Bundesstaat Virginia.
"Ordentlich" aufmischen wollten die beiden die Whiskeywelt - und das scheint den beiden gelungen zu sein!
Rye-, Bourbon- und Wheat-Whiskey produzieren die Freunde in ihrer kleinen Batch-Brennerei.

Alle drei Whiskeys bestehen zu 100% nur aus einer Getreideart, was unter amerikanischen Whiskeys einzigartig ist.
Die Whiskeys werden in aufwendig maßgefertigten Alligator-Char 20l-Quarter-Casks gelagert - jede Flasche wird per Hand mit Wachs versiegelt und einzeln nummeriert.
Die verwendeten Getreide stammen allesamt aus einem Umkreis von 60 Kilomtern zur Destillerie von den Feldern Richmonds

Der Wheat Whiskey aus 100 Prozent Weizen ist mit seinem weichen, butterartigen Aroma die perfekte Wahl für den Einsteiger.

Aroma: weich und buttrig mit leichten Aromen von Eiche, Honig, rote Beeren und Karamell
Geschmack: samtigweich am Gaumen mit Noten von Rosenblättern, gebuttertem Toast mit Marmelade, dann kräftige Noten von Honig und mit Schokolade umhüllten Erdnüssen
Abgang: lang im Abgang mit Noten von Orangenschokolade - dazu wieder der Honig und Töne von Kräutern
