Auchentoshan's "blutige Eiche" reifte in ehemaligen französischen Rotweinfässern und in exBourbon-Fässern - wie alle Abfüllungen (und untypisch für schottische Whiskys) von Auchentoshan wurde auch der Blood Oak dreifach destilliert.

Aroma: deutlich erkennt man reife Himbeeren, Pflaume und Maraschino-Kirschen - dazu saftige Datteln und Rosinen, abgerundet durch feine Vanille- und Toffeenoten
Geschmack: wieder die reifen Früchte - deutlich Blutorange, jetzt entwickeln sich nussige Noten - dann würziger werdend - allen voran Muskatnuss und Ingwer
Abgang: langer und fruchtiger Abgang - rote Johannisbeeren und würzige Eiche
