Die Georgetown Trading Company hat diesen Klassiker der amerikanischen Whiskey-Welt wieder auferstehen lassen.
Die Marke "1776" existiert tatsächlich seit dem Jahr 1776, die Familie Pepper produzierte Whiskey bis in die 1950er Jahre hinein.
Die schillerndste Figur der Familie war Colonel James E. Pepper, ein Bourbon-Aristokrat, der Pferderennen mit bestritt, mit seinem privaten Eisenbahnwagen reiste und die Welt mit seinem Cocktail "Old Fashioned" bekannt machte.
Nach jahrelanger Recherche hat das Unternehmen Georgetown Trading Co. die alten Rezepturen zusammengetragen und den 1776 neu aufleben lassen. Das erklärte Ziel ist, die neuen Whiskeys im alten Stil zu produzieren.

Das Ergebnis ist ein lebendiger Bourbon mit einer herrlichen Süße, dazu gesellen sich Vanillenoten, etwas Schokolade, Honig und Nelken
